Table at Blossburg Coal Festival: — R Lyle reported limited activity on Thursday. Mrs. Anne Yocum and her daughter covered the table on Friday. Stranges reported virtually no traffic on Saturday evening. The light worked out very well. Total raised at the Coal Festival was $23.75. $6.02 was spent improving the hardware for the booth. Also noted that J DeFosse’s pro-life testimony (in tract form) was included on our information table.
Tioga County Fair
- Upcoming: August 11-13, for Tioga County Fair: Need to cover 10AM to 10PM all three days: e.g., 10-4 & 4-10, or 10-2, 2-6, & 6-10.
Tentative dates/shifts:
- Wed.: setup : Kershners.
- Thurs.: R Lyle, maybe Yocums
- Fri.: maybe Proutys and others from their church; takedown: J Kershner
Anne Yocum offered to man our table at Mansfield’s July 4th fair. (Tables are only open on Saturday, July 3rd.) Joel has expressed concern (via printed instructions) about not having enough hand out materials. Consensus of the meeting attendees was that because the Coal Festival was so sparse, we are not short of materials. We deferred the final decision to J Kershner.
- Other
R Lyle reported that after searching about, the best price on the Life-Chain signs is 100 for $69.05 from an organization called "Life Support" out of California. For the 100 signs, we divided them up across 7 messages (plus 1 mandatory). In addition to 40 "Abortion Kills Children" (the mandatory selection) we agreed upon 10 each of, "Adoption the Loving Options", "Jesus Forgives & Heals", "Abortion Hurts Women", "Pray to End Abortion", "Lord Forgive Us and Our Nation: & of "Life the First Inalienable Right." However, there was a bit of confusion about the 100 quantity; R Lyle will confirm that before the next meeting.
R Lyle suggested a petition to be signed at the Tioga County Fair. Tabled further discussion until the July meeting.
Next meeting: Thursday, July 8, 2010, at 7:30PM (in conference room or elsewhere, depending on the hospital’s construction project).
Adjournment: At 8:05 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
M Strange, secretary pro tem
