MINUTES
of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
February 11, 2010

Time: Came to order at 7:37PM by chairman, J Kershner.
R Lyle prayed.
Location: Conference Room, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Attendance: 10
Minutes: Of January 14, 2010 were approved as presented.

Matters of Business:

  1. Finances
The treasurer reported a balance of $1,482.49.
  2. Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
Church of the New Covenant and Holy Child RCC (both of Mansfield) are doing the baby bottle fundraiser for EMPCC.
  3. Baby Bottle fund raisers
Crossroads Family Worship Center has had a good start for their fund raiser for our group’s benefit; they began their kickoff on pro-life Sunday with Mrs. DeFosse as speaker.
  4. Harrisburg Office
Handed out “Chapter Focus” newsletters for January.
  5. Literature tables at local fairs
The dates for our tables are as follows: New Covenant yard sale - May 8 (Sat.); Blossburg Coal Festival: May 26-29 (Wed.-Sat.); Tioga County Fair: August 11-13 (Wed.-Fri.). Note: for the Bloss. festival we should look into providing our own lighting.
  6. Other
The president distributed a handout for our own and others’ use: “Summary of how EMPfHL Uses Donations to our Pro-Life ministry;” this should help us to quickly explain how our money is spent.
March on Washington, DC, Fri., January 22, 2010.
    a) Re; funding by EMPfHL: $100 from our account plus $100 was given by Cavagnaros to Mansfield Univ.’s Newman Society group for their marchers. After discussion, the full $200 allocated by EMPfHL was not badly needed for any other purpose. However, the president recommended that we give $100 toward startup money for a local bus in 2011: this was approved. Several reasons were given why a local bus would be a great advantage to local people; but the cost is about $2,000.
    b) People from our area made up part of the two buses from N.Y. for this effort. Again we were encouraged by the participation of many youth at the march.
Mrs. Jo DeFosse, present with us this evening, has made her “becoming pro-life” testimony available for us to use.
R Lyle showed some pro-life material that we might order. He also is still trying to find a printer for Life Chain signs.

Next meeting: Thursday, March 11, 2010, at 7:30PM (in conference room).
Adjournment: At 8:36 PM.

Respectfully Submitted,

K Kershner, Secretary
