MINUTES
of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
September 10, 2009
Time: Came to order at 7:30PM by chairman, J Kershner.
J Kershner offered prayer.
Location: Conference Room, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Attendance: 3
Minutes: Of July 9, 2009 were approved as presented.
Matters of Business:
- Finances
A treasurer’s report was unavailable, but the balance is about $1,400.
Donations of $45.00 were received at the Tioga County Fair.
- Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
Distributed copies of their newsletter. Oct. 24 is their annual banquet, to be held in Canton, if any of our group would like to attend.
- Baby Bottle fund raisers
Nothing new. We should promote these during the upcoming winter/spring months.
- Harrisburg Office
Handed out “Chapter Focus” newsletters for July & August.
PPLF is having their annual banquet on Oct. 24; closer this year, in Scranton.
- Literature tables at local fairs
August 12-14 at Tioga County Fair: Things went well.
The following covered shifts at this fair:
Wed. - Kershners; Thur. - DeGuzmans, J. Miller, Cavagnaros, C. Lannik, R. Lyle; Fri. - Proutys. It was good to see so many helping to man the table this year!
The chairman decided to reimburse $25.00 to those who worked at this fair and had to pay the $5 entry fee (i.e., a total of $25 to three families).
Notations for the future:
Re: our display: will need to get more pacifiers (some thought we were giving these away! -- perhaps we can wrap the cradle with clear plastic to prevent this) It was good to have the newest [2007] PA abortion statistics updated on the board.
Re: the fetal babies: These are getting old and hard to clean; plus one (the smallest) disappeared. May need to get another set for next year/soon, which costs about $185.
Ten new people signed up to get more information from our group. Should we try to get another newsletter out soon? (It has been a couple of years.)
- Other
Life Chains are slated for Sun. Oct. 4, locally and nationwide. Will contact B Palmer to recruit university students for this.
Next meeting: Thursday, October 8, 2009, at 7:30PM (in conference room).
Adjournment: At 8:25 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
K Kershner, Secretary
