of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
June 11, 2009
Time: Came to order at 7:34PM by chairman, J Kershner, who offered prayer.
Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Attendance: 6
Minutes: Of May 14, 2009 were approved as presented.
Matters of Business:
- Finances
The treasurer reported a current balance of $1,369.51. Recent expenses: $200 for PPLF Harrisburg office toward expenses for publishing Lifelines magazine, plus toward literature they provided for us. Not included in balance is income from donations for at two fairs in May (to be deposited), minus hardware costs for booth improvements.
- Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
Distributed their recent newsletter. Look for their table at the Troy Fair, in conjunction with our sister PPLF affiliate of Bradford, County.
- Baby Bottle fund raisers
Nothing new.
- Harrisburg Office
Handed out recent "Chapter Focus" newsletter.
PPLF is requesting photos of our literature table from our summer fairs — perhaps M Kershner can take some of these at the county fair.
- Literature tables at local fairs
- May 20-23 at Blossburg Coal Festival: went fine, but there seemed to be less interest than previous years; however, note that the overall attendance at the Coal Festival was also less.
- Upcoming: August 12-14, for Tioga County Fair: Need to cover 10AM to 10PM all three days: e.g., 10-4 & 4-10, or 10-2, 2-6, & 6-10.
Tentative dates/shifts:
- Wed.: setup and 2 shifts: Kershners.
- Thurs.: Cavagnaros and R Lyle.
- Fri.: maybe Proutys and others from their church; takedown: J Kershner
Note: entry fee this year is $5.
- Other
M. Strange placed the edited fund appeal, that R Lyle had suggested, on our web site. Note that our web site had 129 hits last month, with a total of 4,706 hits to date.
Next meeting: Thursday, July 9, 2009, at 7:30PM (in conference room).
