of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
July 9, 2009

Time: Came to order at 7:32PM by chairman, J Kershner.
J Kershner offered prayer.
Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Attendance: 8
Minutes: Of June 11, 2009 were approved as presented.

Matters of Business:

  1. Finances
    The treasurer reported a current balance of $1,390.49. Donations of $26.49 were received at the Coal Festival. Expenses were $5.51 for hardware to improve booth.
  2. Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
    This group and our sister affiliate of PPLF in Bradford County will jointly have a pro-life table at the Troy Fair, July 27 - Aug. 1.
  3. Baby Bottle fund raisers
    Nothing new.
  4. Harrisburg Office
    Handed out recent "Chapter Focus" newsletter.
    PPLF also noted an increase of abortions “because of the recession.”
  5. Literature tables at local fairs
    Upcoming: August 12-14 at Tioga County Fair: have people to cover 10AM to 10PM on Wed. & Thurs., but need volunteers for Fri. Will need to recruit for uncovered shifts.
    Entry fee this year is $5.
    Stranges will redo our pacifier display, reflecting the latest (2007) stats re: abortions performed in PA: a total of 36,663 for that year; therefore, an average of 100 per day [note: 40% are in Philadelphia].
  6. Other
    National Right to Life materials were passed out re: the “Obama Abortion Agenda.”
    R Lyle mentioned about a brochure available online [www.abortionbreastcancer.com] informing of the link between abortion and breast cancer. M Strange will print off this for our use at the fair

Next meeting: Thursday, September 10, 2009, at 7:30PM (in conference room).
{Note: we will not meet in August because of the fair.}
