of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
September 11, 2008
Time: Came to order at 7:35PM by chairman, J Kershner, who offered prayer.
Location: Conference Room, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Attendance: 6
Minutes: Of July 11, 2008 were approved as corrected.
Matters of Business:
- Finances
Our treasurer reported a current balance of $2,256.81, with donations brought in from our table at the Tioga County Fair.
- Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
Passed out their latest newsletter.
Their annual fall banquet will be held at the East Canton Methodist Church. Approved a donation to sponsor a table ($120) at this banquet. Some of our group might attend.
- Baby Bottle fund raisers
Nothing new.
- Harrisburg Office
Handed out July & August’s “Chapter Focus” newsletters, and another handout, “Legal Do’s & Don’ts for Churches/Pastors.”.
Their voter guides will be sent soon to our local chapter. At next month’s meeting we will divide them up for distribution. Approved a donation of $200 to PPLF’s Harrisburg office to help in this voter guide effort.
- Literature tables at local fairs
Re: our table at the Tioga County Fair, Aug. 6-8:
Shifts were all covered, including help by two new couples: De Guzmans & Proutys.
Materials: Handed out almost everything we had ordered. We should order and use newer copies of PPLF’s “Lifelines” for distribution next year.
As was suggested before, our display could use some sort of sign/banner/poster to put above the table, for better visibility.
J Antonio of WNBT radio station interviewed some of our people who manned the table. He welcomes interviewing someone from our group during the year at his Dunham’s location.
- Other
Let’s promote the Life Chains that will be held in our county on October 5, Sunday afternoon from 2:30-3:30PM. The web site lists the following locations: Wellsboro, Mansfield, Blossburg, and Roseville.
Next meeting: Thursday, Oct 9, 2008, at 7:30PM (in conference room).
