of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
October 9, 2008
Time: Came to order at 7:34PM by chairman, J Kershner.
R Lyle offered prayer.
Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Attendance: 5
Minutes: Of September 11, 2008 were approved as corrected.
Matters of Business:
- Finances
A current balance was unavailable. Note that $320 was spent recently from our funds to support of the Harrisburg office for voter guides and EMPCC’s banquet.
- Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
We are sponsoring a table at their annual fall banquet ($120). R Lyle expressed a desire to attend and represent us, going with relatives: this was encouraged.
- Baby Bottle fund raisers
Nothing new.
- Harrisburg Office
Handed out latest “Chapter Focus” newsletters. Sent a donation of $200 to PPLF’s office to help with voter guide expenses.
- Literature tables at local fairs
Nothing new.
- Life Chains
Chains were held in four towns in the county. Seven attended in Mansfield and about 60 in Wellsboro; unknown at the other two locations. Were thankful for good weather.
- Other
A member of our group distributed (1) information about post-abortion counseling for men (we could order these for the tables next year); and (2) a Focus on the Family Action sheet.
- 8. Pro-Life Voter Guides
S Maneval ordered 3,000 of these and got them to the chairman. She will distribute 800 and we need to divide up and distribute the remaining 2,200. The rest of our meeting consisted of assigning copies for delivery at churches in our county, via our members or their helpers. These are to ideally be handed out on Nov. 2, the Sunday before election day.
Next meeting: Thursday, Nov 13, 2008, at 7:30PM (in conference room).
