November 13, 2008
Time: Came to order at 7:34PM by chairman, J Kershner.
J Kershner offered prayer.
Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Attendance: 7
Minutes: Of October 9, 2008 were approved as presented.
Matters of Business:
- Finances
The treasurer reported a current balance of $1,936.81.
- Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
R Lyle reported on his/his family’s attendance at their annual fall banquet. The director of EMPCC is open to addressing the Wellsboro Ministerium.
- Baby Bottle fund raisers
Nothing new.
- Harrisburg Office
Handed out recent "Chapter Focus" newsletter.
- Literature tables at local fairs
R Lyle is acquainted with a new piece of literature concerning how men whose babies were aborted continue to experience suffering — we may want to get some copies for next year’s tables.
- March for Life
This is slated in Washington, DC, for Thursday, January 22, 2009. It is not yet known whether Holy Child RCC of Mansfield will sponsor a bus: N Cavagnaro will check on this.
- Pro-Life Voter Guides
The 3,000 guides that S Maneval ordered were distributed throughout the county. Decided that we could probably use 3,500 next time, getting a more accurate count for the number needed (for the RCC churches) from the Laboskys.
- Other
Watched a Scranton newscast concerning the area bishop: he advocates that Catholic political leaders who are “pro-choice” not be allowed to receive holy communion.
