of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
January 10, 2008
Time: Came to order at 7:35PM by chairman, J Kershner.
R Lyle offered prayer.
Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Attendance: 8
Minutes: Of November 11, 2007 were approved as corrected.
NOTE: There was no meeting on December 13, 2007, because of inclement weather.
Matters of Business:
- Finances
Our treasurer reported a current balance of $2,433.87. Recent expenses were: 1) $150 for support of the PPLF office in Harrisburg; & 2) $200 to help sponsor the bus trip for the pro-life March on Washington, DC.
- Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
Nothing new.
- Baby Bottle fund raisers
Nothing new.
- Harrisburg Office
Handed out two "Chapter Focus" newsletters.
- Literature tables at local fairs
Nothing new.
- Other
The bus for the March on Washington (Tuesday, January 22, 2008) is reserved by Holy Child Catholic Church, Mansfield. Because of financial sponsorships that fully cover bus costs, the trip will be offered free of charge to any who reserve a seat! Presently there are 18 seats reserved of a total of 45. Use posters to promote, & pray for a full bus. Approved an ad for in the Wellsboro/Mansfield/Westfield Gazette. Plus N Cavagnaro has placed an ad in the Penny Saver to promote this, and S Cavagnaro will solicit a news article from the Elmira newspaper's editor.
Noted that some detractors of this event have sent out e-mails.
Noted some pro-life movies have come to theaters, including Juno and Bella.
Noted some activities by Planned Parenthood of Corning, NY.
Next meeting: Thursday, Feb 14, 2008, at 7:30PM (in conference room).
