The bus for the March on Washington (Jan. 22) This went fairly well as 24 rode the bus, mostly college/high school youth and children. S Cavagnaro showed: the ad placed in newspaper; posters put up; and an email and editorial (by Cal Thomas), both sent to Elmira Star Gazette to publicize the march. The financial sponsorships seem to aid at least two families in being able to go.We would've liked to see the bus more full (bus held 45), but nonetheless, this was encouraging. Suggestions for next time:
1) perhaps put newspaper ad in earlier; 2) consider asking a cash deposit to hold a place on the bus ($10-20/person?) that would be returned as participants enter the bus, yet still try to offer bus ride for free.
The chairman was asked to speak at the Knights of Columbus "life" prayer vigil, telling of EMPfHL's work. This was held Jan. 21 at St Thomas RCC, Elkland.
A motion was moved and passed to give $120 to Life Dynamics: these funds will go to promote a particular pro-life message to ob/gyn physicians around the USA.
Next meeting: Thursday, March 13, 2008, at 7:30PM (in conference room).
(note: the chairman will need to be out of town for that meeting)
Adjournment: At 8:25 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
K Kershner, Secretary
