of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
February 8, 2007
Time: Came to order at 7:36PM by chairman, J Kershner.
J Kershner offered prayer.
Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro [met in conference room, as board room was occupied]
Attendance: 7
Minutes: Of 1-11-07 were approved as corrected.
Matters of Business:
- Finances
Treasurer S Strange reported a balance of $2,660.35.
- Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
The chairman distributed an email letter that he recently sent to their director, Marcia Baldwin.
- Baby Bottle fund raisers
Bakerburg Community Church is still working on this.
- Harrisburg Office
Distributed the 1/07 edition of "Chapter Focus" from their office.
We have received a sample by-laws. It was suggested by R Lyle to work on these gradually, and as a group, at our monthly meetings.
- Other
March on Washington: The chairman had our treasurer write a check for the full amount approved, $100, and it was given to Holy Child RCC. This enabled our group to underwrite a portion of the expenses incurred by the church for the chartered bus, regardless of the number of students needing help. Three members of the Kershner family attended on this bus.
A pro-life letter to the editor was written by Linda Kitchline, who also rode the bus and marched, which reported about the March in the Wellsboro/Mansfield Gazette.
Photos taken at the March, using M Strange's digital camera, were shown to the group. Some of these pictures were placed on our web site, and the Harrisburg office was notified of our local group's web site address.
S Cavagnaro noted that the Elmira Gazette had nothing reported about the March. She phoned and inquired why not, and was given an unsatisfying answer.
Note that there is also another march on the west coast in San Francisco, held each Saturday before the Washington March.
