of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
October 12, 2006
Time: Came to order at 7:35PM by chairman, J Kershner.
Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro
Attendance: 9
Minutes: Of 9-14-06 were approved as presented.
Matters of Business:
- Finances
Treasurer S Strange reported a new balance of $3,006.59, with some new additional bottle(s) yet to count.
- Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
The chairman phoned and left a message for the director of EMPCC, but hasn't yet received a return call.
- Literature tables at local festivals
These went well this season. We should try to take some photos next year.
- Baby Bottle fund raisers
A member at Bakerburg Community Church wants to do this with 50 bottles.
- Newsletter
M Strange showed us a the newsletter he prepared. It will include the PPLF election voter guides as inserts. Our present mailing list is 288.
- Other
Voter guides: S Maneval and the Stranges both received 3,000 copies. The home office does not charge for these. They have strict rules as to those who should/should not be targeted. Throughout the meeting the group helped to prepare the newsletters with inserts for mailing, as well as divvied up the other voter guides to be channeled through area churches.
Life Chains on October 1: Wellsboro had a very good turnout. Mansfield had only 12 -- J Kershner passed around the negative postcard he received in response to that effort.
The chairman raised the issue of our local chapter donating to PPFL's home office, especially in light of their costs to distribute the voter guides. Voted to approve sending $150 to Harrisburg.
