MINUTES
of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
June 8, 2006

Time: Came to order at 7:39PM by chairman, J Kershner.

Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro
Number in Attendance: 6
Minutes of 5-11-06 were approved as presented.

Matters of Business:

  1. Finances
No treasurer’s report, as our treasurer could not attend. However, noted that we received donations at the NCA Yard Sale and Coal Festival; and also spent money on additional materials for literature tables.
  2. Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
    No further update.
  3. Literature tables at local festivals
    At recent fairs:
1- May 13: New Covenant Academy Yard Sale, Mansfield - Went well, as baby models & large baby bottle attracted visitors. Friendly crowd.
2- May 24-27: Coal Festival, Blossburg - Went fine, but should consider changes for next year to help go better: 1) our table was too far from the lights, and could not see literature after dark; 2) could use a tent (with mesh sides) for protection from rain; 3) might possibly have a baby-changing station. Handouts that were popular: bracelets and little feet. Crowd was friendly and had lots of teens stop by on Saturday. M Strange made up a brief handout to summarize what our group is about -- can use this at all this summer’s fairs.
    Next fair:
3- August 9-11 (Community Days): Tioga County Fair, Whitneyville - Will need to cover 6 shifts: 10AM-4PM & 4PM-10PM, on each of three days: Wed., Thurs., and Fri.
  4. Baby Bottle fund raisers
Currently bottles are out at St Peter’s RCC, Wellsboro. Grace Fellowship Presbyterian, Mansfield, will do this later in summer.
  5. Advertising
Ad was on radio WLIH’s Bulletin Board. Radio WNBT broadcasts from Dunhams’ coffee shop one day per week: we could have one of our people do an interview, as in past.
  6. Newsletter
No change, but Stranges plan to put one out in the fall with reports on: 1. our attendance at festivals, and 2. about the election with candidates’ information.
  7. Materials
Judging from what was popular to hand out recently, suggestions for additional materials to get for future: little feet, smaller-sized T-shirts, the newer style bumper stickers, bracelets, pencils; maybe also bookmarks.

Next meeting: Thursday, July 13, 2006, at 7:30PM (in board room).
Note: no August meeting because of Tioga County Fair.
Adjournment: At 8:30PM.

Respectfully Submitted,
K Kershner, Secretary
