MINUTES
of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
February 9, 2006

Time: Came to order at 7:33PM by chairman, J Kershner.
Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro
Number in Attendance: 7
Minutes: Of 1-12-06 were approved as presented.

Matters of Business:

  1. Finances
The treasurer reported a bank account balance of $1,670.95 [unchanged].
  2. Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC)
    No further update.
  3. March for Life in Washington, D.C.
The local Roman Catholic Churches sponsored a bus, changed the format to a one day trip, and charged $25/person. The trip was well-attended, with over 40 on the bus, including several people connected with EMPfHL. It was reported that over 100,000 participated in the march, with many being young people.
  4. Literature tables at local festivals
    No new information.
  5. Baby Bottle fund raisers
The chairman brought 96 baby bottles for use at St Peter’s RCC, Wellsboro. Discussed how often participating churches should be asked to conduct this type of fund raiser: decided once per year, or perhaps only once every other year.
Noted that we could tell the EMPCC how much we could financially support a Tioga County branch, judging by our yearly income from these fund raisers at the churches. Some other large pro-life churches in the county which in the future might give toward support are Church of the New Covenant (Mansfield) and First Baptist (Wellsboro).
  6. Local newspaper article
There was a good pro-life article in the Wellsboro Gazette by Pastor Jeff McCleary, of First Baptist.
  7. Literature
Passed out information sheets on Supreme Court decisions and Life Facts from the Harrisburg office.
  8. Advertising
Three volunteered to check into possible publicity in the Wellsboro Gazette, on Blue Ridge Cable TV’s channel 13, and on WLIH radio.

Next meeting: Thursday, March 9, 2006, at 7:30PM
Adjournment: At 8:16PM.

Respectfully Submitted,
K Kershner, Secretary
