MINUTES
of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
November 10, 2005

Time: Came to order at 7:38PM by moderator pro tem, J Kershner.
Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro
Number in Attendance: 6
Minutes: Of 10-13-05 were approved as presented.

Matters of Business:

  1. Finances: The treasurer reported a bank account balance of $1,645.95.
  2. Re: officers: Decided to wait until a future meeting, when we have more people in attendance, to vote to replace our chairman. J Kershner will continue to serve as moderator pro tem.
  3. Change time and day of meetings? Discussed this possibility, changing from 7:30PM to 7:00PM and/or from the second Thursday of the month to the second Monday. Will need to check with the hospital administration about availability.
  4. Fairs & our education table
A- Fall Harvest Festival, Wellsboro (October). R Lyle, who is on the Wellsboro Ministerium, said he would talk to the ministers about how EMPfHL was denied a space for a table this year.
B- Future fairs. Decided to check into having a table at the Coal Festival (Blossburg), held in late May.
  5. Splitting our region: A young man contacted the Kershners about starting up a PPLF affiliate in Potter County (Coudersport). Our group technically has jurisdiction for both Tioga and Potter Counties. Since there are no members active from Potter County and since we are planning no activities there, we voted to let this proposed group have our blessing to organize a Potter County affiliate.
  6. Crisis pregnancy center in Mansfield? The Endless Mountains Pregnancy Care Center (EMPCC), based in Canton, is presently expanding its work in Towanda. This effort will occupy much of their time; but possibly by spring/summer of 2006 EMPCC could begin training people to man an office in Mansfield. Their director recommended that a Mansfield office should be sought that is not in a church building. In the meantime, EMPCC invites interested people from our group to visit any of their three offices.
  7. Baby bottle fund raising: Presently we have no bottles out at area churches. St Peter’s RCC of Wellsboro may soon be a possibility. Much of our own collected funds could probably be poured into starting the above local CPC, should it become a reality.

Next meeting: Thursday, December 8 at 7:30PM
Adjournment: At 8:26PM.

Respectfully Submitted,
J Kershner, Secretary (with assistance from K Kershner)
