of Endless Mountains Pennsylvanians for Human Life Meeting
(a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation)
November 8, 2004

Time: Came to order at 7:35PM by Chairman Mario Branciforte.

Location: Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro
Number in Attendance: 9

Minutes: Of 10/19/04 were approved as presented.

Matters of Business:

  1. The Treasurer reported a balance of $441.65.
  2. Note, as many discovered at last Tuesday’s elections: State Senator Madigan’s district has been realigned -- the candidate for Tioga County was Scarnatti.
  3. There has been no new news about hiring a replacement for the Guidance Center in Mansfield.
  4. Laboskys will contact the company to order 200 bottles for the “baby bottle” fund raising project.
  5. Noted that in 2004 EMPfHL was able to have a representatives at a table at three fairs and in three different towns:
    SPRING (5/1): in Mansfield at the the New Covenant Academy yard sale,
    SUMMER (8/11-13): in Whitneyville at the Tioga County Fair,
    FALL (10/2): in Wellsboro at the Fall Harvest Festival.
  6. Discussed efforts by pro-life and pro-family groups to persuade Republicans to not elect Sen. Arlen Specter to be chairman of the Judiciary Committee, because of his opposition to pro-life judges.
  7. A question was raised for our local group to discuss at future meetings: Should our group also use more graphic literature (e.g., pictures of aborted babies, etc.) at our EMPfHL tables for fairs in the future?
